Founded in 2008 by experienced educators, My Tutoring Place has proudly served thousands of families throughout the San Mateo Peninsula and Bay Area for nearly two decades. Families come to us from Millbrae, Burlingame, San Mateo, Belmont, San Carlos, Hillsborough, and many surrounding communities. Our mission has always been simple: to help students build confidence, master challenging subjects, and achieve their academic goals.
Over the years, our students have been accepted to many of the nation's top universities, including Ivy League schools, Stanford, UC campuses, Duke University, the University of Michigan, Vanderbilt University, the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, Purdue University, the University of Washington, the University of Texas, and many more.

At My Tutoring Place, we believe every student learns differently. That is why we do not rely on a standard curriculum or a one-size-fits-all approach. Instead, our experienced educators design a personalized curriculum for each student based on their academic level, learning style, strengths, areas for improvement, and long-term goals.
Whether a student is preparing for the SAT or ACT, mastering AP coursework, improving classroom performance, or working toward admission to a top university, every lesson is thoughtfully planned to maximize progress and build confidence.
To ensure students continue to succeed outside of their tutoring sessions, our teachers are available seven days a week—both online and in person—to answer questions, review assignments, and provide ongoing academic support whenever it is needed.

Helena Hardacre
Helena Hardacre has over 20 years of experience teaching English and humanities. She attended Columbia University and earned a BA in History. She previously taught English at Harold Washington College in Chicago. Helena specializes in helping students become confident writers, critical thinkers, and stronger communicators through personalized instruction. She teaches K–12 Language Arts and English, AP English Language and Composition, AP English Literature, Social Studies, Modern World History, U.S. History, AP World History, and AP U.S. History.
Eric Yuguan Quan
Eric Yuguan Quan is a Physics major from the University of Texas at Austin with a Master's in Education from Stanford University. He teaches Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, Precalculus, AP Precalculus, AP Calculus AB, AP Calculus BC, AP Statistics, Multivariable Calculus, AP Physics 1, AP Physics 2, AP Chemistry, and AP Biology.
Jon Foletta
Jon Foletta has over 20 years of experience teaching mathematics. He majored in Mathematics at Harvey Mudd College, earned an MBA from San Francisco State University, and holds a teaching credential from Notre Dame de Namur University. He previously taught at Junípero Serra High School. Jon teaches Algebra, Geometry, Algebra 2, Precalculus, AP Precalculus, AP Calculus AB, AP Calculus BC, AP Statistics, and Multivariable Calculus.
Savannah Colon
Savannah Colon holds a PhD in Molecular Biology from UC Davis with 6+ years of experience in molecular biology techniques, cell culture, cell engineering, and CRISPR genome editing. She currently teaches at Foothill–De Anza Colleges. She teaches Biology, AP Biology, Chemistry, AP Chemistry, and AP Environmental Science.
Tiffany Ou Yang
Tiffany Ou Yang has five years of experience teaching Mandarin. She earned her degree in Psychology from Santa Clara University and earned a 5 on the AP Chinese exam. Tiffany teaches Chinese I, Chinese II, Chinese III, and AP Chinese.
Isabella Yung
Isabella Yung has six years of experience tutoring mathematics. She is a recent graduate of Trinity College, where she double majored in Mechanical Engineering and Physics. Isabella teaches Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, Precalculus, AP Precalculus, AP Calculus AB, and AP Calculus BC.
